Welcome to Level 6 at the INCO - CEPEL English course. At the end of this module, you will be able to present a seminar or make a research presentation in English, write an abstract for a scientific article and read academic texts similar to the ones you find in postgraduate entrance exams. In unit 1 you will be able to discuss past events, use sports vocabulary and discuss sport events, as well as present an argument. The topic deals with David Beckham's private incident with Alex Ferguson, the famous manager of Manchester United.
In unit 2, you will be able to discuss the concept of Art. There will be conversation activities and a language study based on the use of intensifiers + adjectives. There are also lots of vocabulary to be used in real conversation, so enjoy!
In unit 3, you will be able to talk about the world of fashion. We will develop the necessary skills to describe fashion, what people are wearing, use adjectives in the correct order and review linking words. Enjoy!
In unit 4, you will learn about the world of travelling. We will reveiw the use of ing and infinitive after verbs and discuss our preferences concerning trips.
